There is a new chapter in the Firebird Tutorial for .NET : Firebird Data Access Designer (DDEX) installation . Follow these instructions to get Firebird support in the Visual Studio .NET 2005 (Standard and up): Browse Firebird databases in the Server Explorer Use "Configure Data Source" Wizard to configure SqlDataSource component Connection Properties editor etc. No need for Visual Studio SDK!
